So I just installed a L04618-800 power supply into my PC because I needed a higher wattage to support a GPU card (psu is technically for a different computer, but it and my computer both use the 'sunflower ' motherboard... so I knew it work...and it did)
However this psu has one more cable (labled P4) than my original had. It LOOKS like the power lead for gpu cards, but given the psu is already using one perprietary connection, id like to confirm what it is before using it.

The cabling on that supply is supposed to include a PCIE 6+2 power plug.
You said "However this psu has one more cable (labled P4) than my original had. It LOOKS like the power lead for gpu cards, (that would be true)
but given the psu is already using one perprietary connection, id like to confirm what it is before using it". Would you explain that.

Thank you, that confirms my suspicion.
As for a deeper explanation, it was in reference to the non industry standard power connections HP is using on many of their motherboards. (Two 4 pin plugs vs the long single or double plug every other manufacturer uses)
