Hello,
HW: HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF - Intel Core i5 4570 3.2 GHz,
8 GB DDR3, 256 GB SSD, DVD-RW, Intel HD Graphics 4600,
Windows 7 Professional
Question: What power supply can be added to this desktop? there is only 240W power supply and I need power supply that can handle at least:
https://www.gpucheck.com/gpu/nvidia-geforce-gt-1030/intel-core-i5-4570-3-20ghz/medium/?lang=en&curre...
Recommended Power Supply
380W |
The problem is that when I look for some TFX power supplies they are from different vendors so the pin's can be different.
Also I've found only TFX power supplies of 350W MAX could that be enough? Does HP produce some own power supplies?
Or can you recommend some power supply to fit the pins of motherboard and hw in HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF + are capapble to run at least the old GT 1030?
Thanks a lot!

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
The best and most effective way to upgrade the power supply to an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF -in my opinion, is to use a "24 Pin to 6 Pin ATX Power Adapter Cable for HP EliteDesk 800 G1" such as seen here: https://www.amazon.com/COMeap-Power-Adapter-Workstation-12-inch/dp/B06XW7RWNH/ref=nav_signin?crid=1K....
Installation is a breeze, it is safe, reliable and inexpensive.
I have applied this power supply upgrade method myself very successfully on two HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFFs (one fitted/converted to an HP Elite 8300 SFF motherboard) primarily to be able to power much better PCIe 8-pin(s) powered graphics cards -see my link on page 5: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Upgrading-HP-Compaq-Pro-6300-SF....
Since an SFF has less internal space to house a high(er) end graphics card than a Tower version, I had to park my graphics cards outside the SFF cases which came at an additional expense.
If you are interested to travel off the proverbial reservation like I did and have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,
