Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, recently bought this laptop HP Victus 15-fb2000nr 15.6" Gaming Laptop Computer - Mica Silver; AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS 3.8GHz Processo.... I was wondering what upgrade paths are available for this device.
For 2TB SSD Upgrade : I am between the WD SN850x, SK Hynix, and Samsung 990 Pro (Recommendations please)

For RAM, it says it is compatible with DDR5x? I am not sure which models, please provide links if possible!

Anything else that can be upgraded? Thanks for your help!

Hi:

As indicated in the product specs you posted, the notebook uses DDR5-5600 MHz memory, so that is what you would want to install.

I prefer the Samsung drives myself, so the 990 Pro would be my first choice.

However, the SN850x would also be an excellent choice.

The Crucial memory report indicates the model series will support up to 2 x 32 GB of memory.

HP only has the service manual for the original 15-fb0xxx model series, so the memory upgrade info would probably not be accurate--especially the DDR4-3200 spec.

If you are currently in possession of the notebook, run this command to see what Windows indicates is the maximum memory:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
