My Pavilion p6213w x64 has 6.00 GB physical memory (RAM) and I want to add 2GB, which it does support.
It's supports 8GB on 64-bit 240 pin... so I want 2 GB DDR2 Dimms, non-eec mem unbuffered.
However, it also suppoprts PC2-5300 (667 MHZ) or PC2-6400 (800Mhz) .
I do not know how to make a decision as to which MHz to buy.
Can someone tell me? I called a support shop. They would not say. Told me I had to book a repair time to bring it in. I want to pop it in myself.

The following link shows specs of your computer
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01869190
It clearly says currently it has total 6GB 800MHz and you can see from a program which shows configutaion is for your machine 2 + 2 + 1 + 1.
It supports 8GB max (each slot supports only 2GB) therefore you can buy 2 x 2GB DDR2 800MHz RAM and replace them on slots 3 and 4.
Regards.

OK.. I found an executable that I ran on my desktop which told me my memory configuration without need to open it up. Should anyone else be reading this... I have 4 slots all of which are filled .. 2048 and 1024 MB in slot 1, 2 and repeated in 3, 4. And they are 800 MHz...
