HP Pavilion HPE
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I've got an HP Pavilion HPE desktop computer that I dug out of storage and have begun upgrading. One thing that I did was swap its default 6GB of DDR3 1333Mhz RAM for 8GB of DDR 1866Mhz, since I had that as a hand-me-down component from a different computer. According to the motherboard specifications, the maximum RAM supported is DDR3 1600Mhz, but the program CPU-Z said that my upgraded RAM is still running at 1333Mhz.

When I made a RAM upgrade in a non-HP computer, I had to go into the BIOS to change its settings, which was straightforward. However, on this Pavilion HPE, I've looked all throughout the BIOS of the M3970AM (Angelica2) motherboard, and I can't find any option to change RAM settings. I've already made sure that the BIOS is updated to its latest version. How can I access RAM settings?

Thanks.

There are no options to change any memory timings in the BIOS of your Angelica motherboard.

That is the case for all HP desltops except for the Omen series desktop PC motherboards.

Permanently underclocking the RAM is such an asinine design decision. Regardless, thank you for the quick reply.
