Have a terrific HP Z400 Workstation running Windows 7 (64-bit). Just upgraded the RAM to 20 GB. There is a discrepancy between RAM slot maps. The sticker on the inside of the case says one thing, Windows 7 says another, and CPU-Z yet another. There are 6 slots. Four slots have 4gb RAM installed and two slots have 2gb RAM installed. Which is authoritative map? What might explain discrepancy between case sticker and Windows?
Case sticker: 1 (4gb), 2 (4gb), 3 (4gb), 4 (4gb), 5 (2gb), 6 (2gb). This is the desired configuration.
Windows 7 (per command prompt and wmic: 1 (4gb), 2 (4gb), 3 (4gb), 4 (2gb), 5 (4gb), 6 (2gb).
CPU-Z: 1 (2gb), 2 (4gb), 3 (4gb), 4 (4gb), 5 (4gb), 6 (2gb).

Thank you for the helpful reply!
Although I reinstalled the RAM per the guidelines, I am still facing the issue of a discrepancy (case sticker v. Windows 7 v. CPU-Z).
P.S. Probably not relevant, but Windows 7 has recognized all the RAM installed, regardless of order.
