I'm considering upgrading the installed RAM in my HP Slimline 290-p0025xt. I need to confirm the max capacity for my model. I have done some research online and it seems that the max is 32 GB with 2 slots. However, I have seen a couple of references stating the it is actually only 8 GB total. Please confirm the correct amount of maximum RAM that I can install.
Thank you.

Welcome to our HP Community Forum!
Your HP Slimline 290-p0025xt Desktop PC (X6C01AA) is fitted with the Menlo motherboard (SSID: 843F) and can be upgraded with up to 2 x 16GB of DDR4 PC4-21300, 2666 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, DIMM (UDIMM), 288-pin RAM sticks.
You can use DDR4 PC4-25600, 3200 MHz RAM, but it will down throttle to 2666 MHz.
To illustrate that the RAM in this PC can indeed reach 2666 MHz (and not 2400 MHz as listed in other sources) with 2 x 16GB RAM modules, here is an HP Slim Desktop 290-p0xxx User example: HP Slim Desktop 290-p0xxx Performance Results - UserBenchmark.
Hope this was helpful.
