HP Pavilion All-in-One PC 24-ca1000a (4N402AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I spoke to customer services 2 days ago to inquire if it's possible to upgrade the RAM in my HP Pavilion All-in-One PC 24-ca1000a (4N402AV) from the current 8gb to 32 gb.  I was told I could and that any 3200hz DDR4 card would fit.  However when we've opened the PC to make the switch it's not obvious where the card slots are and nothing looks even remotely like it could take the new cards we've purchased.   Could someone please let me know if I've been wrongly advised and it's actually not possible to upgrade.  I've attached some photos of the entire inside of the cabinet, the motherboard and also the replacement RAM.WhatsApp Image 2023-03-12 at 20.35.06.jpgWhatsApp Image 2023-03-12 at 20.35.59.jpgWhatsApp Image 2023-03-12 at 20.36.38.jpg

Hi:

I believe the memory modules are located under that rectangular cover located in the right center of your screenshot, to the right of that copper heat sink.

See the service manual illustration on page 8...

Upgrading and Servicing Guide (EMEA with shipping label) (hp.com)

However, I can tell you that the memory you bought won't fit in your PC.

All in one PC's are glorified laptops and use laptop (SODIMM) memory.

You will need to return the memory you bought and I recommend you install this memory that is indicated as compatible with your PC:

Crucial 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT16G4SFRA32A | Crucial.com

Here is the link to the memory on the Crucial.UK website:

Crucial 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT16G4SFRA32A | Crucial UK

Also available on Amazon (costs a bit more).

Hi, thank you so much that's brilliant.  We did wonder if that's where they were but even after removing the screws on that silver box it felt solid and like it wouldn't move!  I also suspected I'd need laptop RAM so thank you for confirming,  We'll give it another try.  Thanks again for your quick and helpful response.
