I'm a manager for my company and I want to increase the RAM for their Desktops and Laptops. I'm not very tech savy when it comes to ordering memory. I need to order RAM to add or replace what they have so they are up to the minimum of 32 Gb or 64 Gb for two of my heavy user. My reports have a few different computers and different levels of memory already in their computers. I was looking to comfirm new RAM part numbers or replacement RAM part numbers for the following.
Desktops
Z640: I need 32 Gb more RAM or (1) replacement 64 Gb RAM.
Z620: I need 24 Gb more RAM or (1) replacement 32 Gb RAM.
Laptops
Elitebook 8570w: I need 12 Gb more RAM or (1) replacement 32 Gb RAM.
zBook: I need (1) replacement 32 Gb RAM to replace (8 Gb, 12 Gb, 16 Gb, 20 Gb, and 24 Gb)

the systems you listed are HP workstations or business class systems and as such might be better served by posting in that forum
buying compatable memory is not that hard, the only thing to watch out for is Registered or unregestered memory
if you look at a existing memory module you will see numbers letters printed on it that look like this:
PC3-12800R 8GB <--note the "R"= registered ram
or
PC3-12800 8GB <-Note no "r"
HP info on z620 quickspecs and ram

HP z640 quickspecs (look at memory section)

crucial memory finder click on "scan my system now" button to run a program to see what type of memory and how much is currently installed, (it will then show recomended memory kits) repeat on each computer

For the Z620, this page states:
Up to 12 DIMM slots with 2 CPUs, up to 192 GB, 8-channel ECC DDR3 1600 MHz; 4 channels per CPU
and:
Each processor supports up to 4 channels of DDR3 memory.
To realize full performance at least 1 DIMM must be inserted into each channel.
Note that this is "ECC" RAM, not the usual RAM that is used in desktop computers. Be careful when you order.
So, it seems that you will not need to "replace" any RAM.
See: www.crucial.com for their "Memory Configurator", to help you select the part-numbers for compatible RAM
For the Z640,
- 256 GB DDR4-2133 ECC Registered RAM
- Actual memory speed dependent on processor. Only Registered and Load-reduced ECC DIMMs are supported.
- 4 DIMM (with 1 processor) and 8 DIMM (with 2 processors)
So, you may not need to add any RAM.
I see TEN models of the "Elitebook 8570w", via:

I see MORE THAN TEN models of the "ZBook", via:

You will need to be more specific. But, that CRUCIAL web-site should be a useful resource.
