I recently took out the stock 8gb ram stock ram stick in my computer and replaced it with 8GBx2 sticks from Corsair vengeance series. besides that everything else is stock. when put in it reads 8GBs only even in bios. I checked each one individually in each slot (2 slot) and everything worked well. I even maximized ram usage but alas nothing, thoughts?

The stock memory for your system appears to be
934254-800 | Memory - GNRC RAM UDIMM 8G DDR4 1.2V 2666 |
That 934254-800 part shows up as single sided 1Rx8
You probably got 2Rx8 which is double sided and the bios counts each side as a slot and you have only 2 slots
I could be wrong and it might be it just is not recognized as it is not blessed by HP.
What does CPU-z show for the SPD. I have dual rank (both sides have memory)
Can you post a link to the memory you bought?
There was a bios upgrade Nov, 2023 but there was no mention of fixing memory problems so I don't recommend upgrading.
