Hello, I upgraded to W10 and now want to upgrade the RAM, Currently has 4GB and I would like to go to 8GB or more. The specs of the system say 4 GB maximum. The system came with W7. Is the RAM capacity dictated by the motherboard or the OS?
Thank you!

Greetings,
Welcome back to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
HP specs (Link) for your PC reveal you are maxed out at two 2 GB memory modules. The motherboard has two DIMM slots only.
You may not be able to add more memory or higher density DIMMS if your PC's motherboard (MB) is similar to the MB image in the above link.
Regards
