Hey!
So I recently upgraded my HP desktop RAM and the computer goes to PREPARING AUTOMATIC REPAIR each time I start it up. It then gets stuck on this screen without advancing.
The details:
HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-000bla
Windows 10
Originally 8gb RAM
RAM upgrade
TEAMGROUP Elite DDR4 16gb 2666mhz x 2
The new RAM sticks both allow normal start up when in slot 1 and slot 2, so there doesn't appear to be a mechanical issue. Both fit in fine and are recognised in both slots individually. However, together is where the issue is. Both RAM sticks also work, more or less, in combination with the old 8gb RAM (although a BSOD will appear every few hours) in both slot combinations.
According to the specs, the computer should be able to take 32gb.
Windows memory diagnostic finds no issues with either of the sticks.
Could anyone offer some insight please? Thanks!
