I am looking to upgrade the memory form 4gigs to 8gigs in a z240 but I have no idea what type I should put in. The parts store labels one set as 2133E an the other 2133U. I would appreciate the help on what to chose to upgrade my system, because this is about the 5th bsod I have gotten on this machine and I am sick of it. After removing the Crucial ram and low profile GTX 1050ti (required no external psu cable connected to run) I put in the system and reinstalling the ram that came with the system, the workstation went out of it's infanite BSOD loop and booted fine. The help would be appreciated.
One side of the ram that came with the system.
A stick of Crucial ram from Amazon.
Other side of the stuff in my system currently
What happend after the BSOD.
This is what is already in my system.
What is in the parts store.

wish more people would take the time to provide information as good as you did.
as to your hoew do i buy the right ram,.....it might supprise you to just go to a ram makers web page........
http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/memory-info
both of your ram modules are the same, but the numbers differ because they came from two diffrent batches made at seperate times.
also note, the crashes might be caused by the video card or by your existin ram having a bad "dimm" module
if you are crash free right now, i would just add the new ram and see if still crash free. when sure the system is ok try the video card if it now crashes the card or the power supply or the video drivers need to checked out one at a time
start by removing the video card drivers and downloading the latest nvidia driver for your card. if still issues have power supply checked
