I have upgraded the RAM in my computer from 2 x 4GB DDR3 12800 sticks (Samsung M378B5173EB0-YK0) with 2 x 8GB DDR3 12800 sticks (Samsung M378B1G73QH0-CK0). The computer will not boot when the new sticks are installed and beeps and flashes (3 long beeps, 2 short beeps) I understand this is a memory initialization error. I don't understand why this memory is not working in my machine as the motherboard shows that it is compatible with this memory. I have put in one of the old sticks and one new and windows still only shows 4GB whereas CPUZ shows 12GB. Can anyone help me?

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
Consumer PCs usually require non ECC, non-registered memory modules.
Per NewEgg (Link), the new memory appears to be ECC, non-registered memory. I think NewEgg has wrong info.
This site lists more detail for existing memory (Link) and new memory (Link). The voltage is different and CL is different for both modules.
I would buy memory at Crucial Memory (Link) to avoid memory incompatibilities.
