I have a Pavilion gaming desktop that came with 8GB of ddr4. I went and bought a Corsair 32 GB kit which was read after a power cycle but I'm not getting the advertised speeds of 3600 MHz, instead, I'm stuck at 2133. Bios isn't helping much, there are no current updates yet. Crucial scanner has some recommended 32 GB kits at the speed I'm looking for but I'm leery of buying a kit. I thought that maybe my voltages on the new kit were unsupported but Crucial is listing similar kits to mine with the same voltages as recommended. Any thoughts/advice? Would buying a kit from crucial be my best bet?

Hi @baron97,
Do you mind checking if this link represents your rig: https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-pavilion-gaming-desktop-tg01-2260xt-pc-1k4j3av-1?jumpid=ma_gami...
-Because if that's the case, max RAM speed for this PC is documented in this product specification page as (2x 16GB) DDR4 PC4-23400 at 2933 MHz.
Regardless, welcome to the club. My G.SKILL DDR4 PC4-19200 RAM on an HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF is supposed to run at 2400 MHz, but instead it is stuck at -you guessed it: 2133 MHz.
The problem for the HP 800 G3 SFF is HP's lack of offering BIOS driven XMP RAM speed adjustments.
Anyway, there are no solutions for my desktop, but perhaps an HP Expert knows something to nudge things along for your PC.
Good luck!
Kind Regards,
