My new RAM arrived this morning and following your advice I installed it. I must say it's not the easiest of jobs if you have big hands but nonetheless patience and perseverance won out. Eventually I managed to slide the RAM into the slots, lock it in and reconnect everything.

I have just checked my available RAM and it shows 16Gb so it has recognised it straight away and no need to do anything else.

Thank you very much for your help and advice. Seems it's a simple enough job if you know what you are doing and you have the right parts!!!
