Could someone help me with this? Besides vacuuming / wiping-down the outside of the computer, is there a way to remove the cover of the computer so I can do a more-thorough vacuuming? The computer is VERY slow; I have a LOT of cat hair in the room, and I want to be able to make sure I get it ALL out of the computer.
Thanks in advance ~
Marge

This document shows how to open the case:
Looks like there is a screw on the back to remove and then the "door" slides open so you can access the inside. (Page 3)

Thank you SO VERY MUCH for this link, Dragon-Fur! I'm on Pg. 2, and deciding to Perform a System and Hard Disk Cleanup FIRST! I KNOW my computer needs that, too! Heaven only knows HOW MANY files I have on there, and I've never done this before. I'm on my way to pg. 3, as you posted below. Thank you, again!
By the way, I could NOT find these solutions, or even the "Owner's Manual" for my computer when I went on HP's website...it kept sending me to different pages, none of which helped me with the info. I was looking for! This Community, and ALL YOU POSTERS, are a Godsend for computer-illiterate people like me!
Many thanks!

Thanks, Marge. We do try. Smiling.
It is supposed to be so simple in this day and age to find the information we need.
In practice, sometimes it is "harder than it looks" from the outside. Smiling.
Make sure that before you make any changes to your system that you back up your most critical files to an external location: cloud account, copy files to a USB drive, "something" to protect your most valuable data in case something odd and horrible falls on you during your attempts to fix your computer.
If in doubt, start a new thread (new Post) and ask for help!
Good Luck.

Well.....I didn't back anything up, but...so far, I haven't seen anything missing (YET!) LOL! I used the CCCleaner (something my son had put on my computer), since the one in the HP solutions was not progressing. I'm sure it erased a LOT of 'stuff', including my Thumbnails for my favorite Chrome sites, but I can always just type them in and find them again.
When I get a new thumbnail drive, I'll be sure to back everything up (probably tomorrow).
Thanks again!
