Hello,
I want to upgrade the GPU on my friends PC that is HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0013nw.
He wants to play cs2 smoothly but even though we added 8gb stick to have 16GB of ram in total and switched ssd to 1tb it still didn't fix the problem of framedropping to 50FPS...
We think it's time to upgrade the gpu(he has gtx 1060 3gb) because my friend can't afford to buy a new pc and the CPU is pretty decent for this game but the problem is the psu that has 310w... I've come up with the idea to buy RTX 4060 that has 115w TDP and undervolt it to get the lower power consumption as possible but im not sure if its the good idea.
We are also open for other ways to upgrade the GPU.
I will appreciate the help

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
In order to comfortably run an RTX 4060, I would strongly recommend upgrading the power supply to a 400-watt unit with part number: L04618-800. You should be able to purchase one of these power supplies via one of many eCommerce sites.
Reason being that the 400-watt power supply is equipped with one 6+2-pin PCIe power cable, which is needed to power an RTX 4060.
In theory, you could use a dual 15-pin SATA power to PCIe 8-pin power adapter cable to power an RTX 4060 with a 310-watt power supply, but this is NOT recommended.
Kind Regards,
