I recently bought a Radeon AMD HD 6450 and physically installed it into my computer. I've been trying to follow the instructions on how to install the drivers and so on, but under device manager in windows 10, the AMD card does not show up. I've tried disabling the pci security on the slot (not sure what that does but saw it in a thread elsewhere) but nothing I've done has worked so far, including downloading all of the auto detect software from AMD. is there anything I'm doing obviously wrong or am missing?
Thank you

@DelVare , welcome to the forum.
The HD 6450 is definitely on the compatible list for your motherboard and it appears that you are doing all of the correct procedures. Actually, you shouldn't have to change any of the BIOS settings for it to work. The only suggestion that I have is, make certain that your software and drivers are all up to date by running HP Support Assistant and Windows Update. Also, install the latest driver from AMD: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-hd/amd-radeon-hd-6000-series/amd-radeon-hd-6450

Thank you for your reply, i actually ended up trading it in with a NVIDIA GEFOCE GT 710 thinking there was something wrong with the video card. I've check to make sure all of HP/Windows are updated, but as with the AMD GPU, it wont even let me download the drivers, saying the hardware is not detected... im not sure where to go from here

Thank you for the additional information, @DelVare!
I believe your problem with the GT 710 is caused by the card not being compatible with the motherboard. The GT 710 requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS: https://www.howtogeek.com/175649/what-you-need-to-know-about-using-uefi-instead-of-the-bios/
HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012. From the information that I have on your computer it was released in 2011.

Thank you for the explanation, honestly my intent with buying a graphics card for this system is to allow for an HDMI output, and improve graphics for small scale 3d modeling (solid works for example, but mostly for parts and not large assemblies). would you be able to recommend or point me in the direction of where I can find good options compatible with my system?
thank you again for all of your feedback and input
