I have the model Z1 G9 TWR and I want to add a 3.5" SATA Hard Disk Drive internally.
I've opened the case and can see that there is a HDD cage and SATA cables. For the HDD to slide into the HDD cage securely I need to fit rails to the HDD unit. I have tried a set of generic rails however they are too wide for the slots in the cage. I want to purchase official HP HDD rails to be sure that the HDD will be installed securely.
I've searched for HP HDD rails for the Z1 G9 tower but haven't been able to find them to purchase.
Please can someone direct me to where I can purchase the part?

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
I can't be sure because of lack of HP documentation, but it could be this part via eBay-UK: HP 915767-001 Z4 G4, Z6 G4, Z2 Tower G4 LFF 3.5in HDD Caddy | eBay.

Many thanks @NonSequitor777 for your response and finding an HP HDD caddy on ebay.
The description of the ebay lot lists the products it is compatable with and does not mention the Z1 so I am concerned it is the wrong part.
On Monday I will try contact HP Support by phone and see if that resolves the situation.
Thank you again for your time and effort trying to help.

I understand your reluctance -it would have been preferable if your Z1 was specifically mentioned. In my experience, usually there is cross-compatibility between similar desktops. Please provide your feedback once HP reveals what product is compatible!

I spoke with HP Support and they suggested that part HP 654540-002 was what I was after however on closer examination this part is a HDD caddy that converts a 2.5" to a 3.5".
I've gone ahead and ordered the part HP 915767-001 as suggested by NonSequitur777 (thank you again) - it should arrive in a couple of days...
