hello everyone, my hp envy desktop te01-1287cb comes with an 8767 baker motherboard and says the ram speed should be 2933 but when I upgraded to 2 sticks of 8gb corsair vengeance XMP-2.0 3200 its now only at a ram speed of 2133, can you guys help me please because I don't see any options in hp bios to change it or is there another way to do it? I did put the original ram that came with the pc when I bought it back in and it says its running at 2133 as well even though the specs clearly say ram speeds should be 2933. Can you guys please shed some light on my issue , thanks
( is it because it only has a 180watt PSU? but then why would hp say it runs at 2933? I'm confused LOL )
CPU: i7-10700
motherboard: baker SSID 8767
ram: corsair vengeance 2*8gb 3200

If I understand what you wrote, you put the old memory sticks back in and the are now running at a slower speed.
I am guessing you did not reset the motherboard when you put the original chips back in and the bios is running as if the problem sticks are still in.
Need more info.
Please install cpu-z and list what it says for SPD. ie: the jedec values. Use the "save report" to get detailed info and repeat for the faster chips. Make sure you reset the bios when swapping out memory sticks.
Also, check the voltage to see if it is the same. Low voltage ram can run faster and more stable.

hey , when I bought the hp envy desktop it cam with 1 stick of 8gb ram 2933. but when I checked task manager it said it was running at 2133. So I decided to buy 2*16gb 3200 ram sticks of corsair vengeance and it still says my ram speed is 2133. Do you know why the specs and the actually ram is 2933 but will only run at 2133? Plus do you know if I can change any settings in bios to fix it because it is hp proprietary. Or is there software that I can use to change settings for ram speed ? If i cant change it in HP's bios
