I have just upgraded my ram with an entirely new kit. It is rated for 3200 MHz, now i know that my motherboard will only be able to run it at 2666 MHz. Currently its only going at 2133 MHz. How do I make it run at 2666 MHz?

HP computers are also very picky when it comes to RAM. You can have fancy so-called "gaming" RAM installed in your Hewlett-Packard PC made to work at a particular RAM speed, and it doesn't. That happened to me with upscale G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series RAM on an HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF. It took compatible Samsung RAM to get it to run from 2133 to 2400 MHz.
I am afraid that this is also the case with you. If you can return your RAM to sender for a refund, I would advise you to consider that.
Instead, I would strongly recommend you to pick a RAM that is far more likely to run at your desktop's top allowable RAM speed, such as: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2666MHz-PC4-21300-Computer-M378A1K43CB2-CTD/dp/B08LQ87QW9/ref=sr_1_3?....

Unfortunately a much-asked question in this Forum... In the end, your HP motherboard is the deciding factor in how RAM memory speed pans out. Unfortunately, top RAM speed -in your case 2666 MHz, is likely only achievable through the XMP profile setup in BIOS. Have you checked if this option exists in your BIOS?

And to answer your previous question: yes, it is entirely possible that the latest BIOS update for your PC if you haven't got it, could have this XMP feature. Likely not, though. HP appears to discourage Users modifying processor and RAM speeds -with the exception of newer high-end HP gaming desktops.
