hello, i recently bought 2x8 gigs of ram for my hp workstation z620 because my actual ram is too old. The problem is that when the new ram is installed and that I press on the power ok button the fans go crazy and nothing happens. Can anyone help ?
here is the ram I bought : Gigastone RAM 16Go (2x8Go) DDR3-1600MHz PC3-12800 Unbuffered Non-ECC 1.5V CL11 UDIMM 240-Pin

z workstation and ZBooks are very finicky on memory.

If you installed memory modules that was  not guaranteed  to be compatible with your workstation, I am not surprised that you are having issues.

Gigastone RAM 16Go (2x8Go) DDR3-1600MHz PC3-12800 Unbuffered Non-ECC 1.5V CL11 UDIMM 240-Pin

is definitely not a mainstream brand  memory.

Did the vendor guarantee that it would work?

I bought them on Amazon and they were really well noted, so I tough it could work but apparently not. What type of ram is compatible with my pc ?

Did you happen to mix unbuffered and registered memory?

Kingston Memory sells guaranteed compatible memory

Unfortunately, I no longer have a VPN to use to find guaranteed compatible memory for the z620 that is sold in France.

I suggest searching using  HP z620+mémoire de l'ordinateur" as search keywords to find a local source.
