OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop GT22-1xxx is in need of additional memory to support video editing.  This computer came with 32GBs Kingston DDR4 4800 memory.  I want to find compatible memory that is not slower than what I currently have.  I'm confused with all the different compatibility option claims found on multiple web sites.  Am I confined to the DDR4 options or can this computer accept DDR5 options?

Hi @WB50

If your PC uses DDR4, you cannot use DDR5, as they are completely different.

Now I think you're giving out wrong info. The series of these models with Intel or AMD processors use DDR5.

Please write the full model or product number.

Thanks for your comments.  There was so much different information I was getting that I didn't know exactly what was installed in the computer.  Since my original posting I was finally able to find a scanned copy of the original Packing List for the computer.  It shows the memory modules are KFURY 32GB(2x16GB)DDR55200 XMP RGBHS.

My confusion has now been cleared up.  Thanks
