This problem was reported over a month ago, HP is extremely slow to support customers, I had better service when I had a Lenovo pc. The current one is OMEN by HP 25L Gaming Desktop PC GT15-2 which is only 2 years old! I use the wifi broadband with Win 11. It tries to connect to Rust EU but times out, it doesn't happen on any other games, I guess HP is blocking it! I always update HP and Win on a regular basis.

I bought this pc to specifically run Rust but once again HP are a let down, so my next pc won't be HP.

Hi @Johnr650,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I hear your frustration, and I want to reassure you that HP hardware does not block specific games or servers. her customers with the same issue.

Check server status

Confirm that the Relic EU PVE server is online and stable. If other players are reporting downtime, the issue is not on your PC.

Flush DNS cache

Open Command Prompt as administrator and run the following:

ipconfig /flushdns

This clears outdated network records that can block connections.

Verify firewall and antivirus settings

Ensure Rust is allowed through the Windows Firewall and any antivirus software. Add Rust as an exception if needed.

Test wired vs Wi‑Fi

If possible, connect via Ethernet. This rules out Wi‑Fi instability as the cause of timeouts.

Reinstall Rust

Corrupted files can cause persistent connection issues. A clean reinstall often resolves them.

I hope this helps

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Done all that and still can't load any Rust servers including Relic EU, says connecting then says disconnected. It worked great on my Lenovo desktop but not on this bad Omen desktop.

Hi @Johnr650,

Welcome back, and thank you for the update.

I understand why this is frustrating, especially since you've confirmed that the same Rust servers worked on your previous PC and you've already tried the common network troubleshooting steps.

What your results suggest

Since:

  • The issue affects multiple Rust servers, not just Relic EU PVE.
  • Other online games work normally.
  • You've already flushed the DNS cache, checked the firewall, and reinstalled the game.
  • The problem occurs on your OMEN by HP 25L Gaming Desktop GT15-2 running Windows 11.

This makes it unlikely that the HP hardware itself is blocking Rust. HP desktops do not intentionally block specific games or game servers.

Instead, the issue is more likely related to the network path between your PC and the Rust servers, a driver or network configuration issue, or software on the system that's interfering with Rust's connection.

1. Test a different network

If possible, connect your PC to a different internet connection, such as a mobile hotspot.

This helps determine whether the issue is related to your broadband connection or specific to the PC. If Rust works on another network, your ISP or router configuration may be contributing to the problem.

2. Update the network adapter driver

Even if Windows reports the driver is up to date, download and install the latest network driver available for your OMEN desktop from HP Support.

A newer driver may resolve compatibility issues that affect certain online games.

3. Reset the Windows network stack

Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run the following commands one at a time:

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset

ipconfig /flushdns

Restart the PC after running these commands.

Resetting the network stack restores Windows networking components to their default state and can resolve corrupted network configurations that affect specific applications.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have a wonderful day ahead! 🚀

As usual you won't accept this HP Omen is a load of crap. Rust and all other games ran fine on Lenovo and connected to all the severs albeit it was a bit laggy  but this load of crap won't load any  of the servers on Rust. When I had a problem with Lenovo they had a technician remotely control the pc to sort out any problems and fix them. Your 'so called support' are just novelists and not proper technicians! I've reset this bad Omen twice in the last year because you novelists couldn't fix any problems. You should be ashamed to call yourself 'Support' just sitting on your hands and believe you me I won't be buying another HP product in the future and will recommend my friends not to do so either.

Don't bother to write me another novel!

Hi @Johnr650,

I understand your frustration, and I'm sorry to hear that the issue remains unresolved.

Since you've already performed extensive troubleshooting and the problem still persists, I recommend contacting your nearest HP Authorized Service Center for further diagnosis.

They can perform a more in-depth evaluation of the system and determine whether there is a hardware or software issue affecting your OMEN desktop.

You can locate the nearest HP service center using our Service Center Locator:
