Memory Upgrade on HP 24-f0040a All-in-One Desktop PC

I have a Reply along the same lines. I'm sick of this ridicule I get when I'm ONLY trying to do what's SAFE in respect for my HP Desktop. It's HP 110-016 WIN10(x64) (new JUN2013) and it's still a running champ. They say I'm looking TOO much into it. I have a 4G stick in my RAM, nothing in the other Slot out of the box 2013. I adhere to Compatibility because I am in an UPgrade for respect out it running GR8. I have read at HP Website and blogged elsewhere THIS. SPECS say 16G MAX Memory. Ok, got it. No Mix and Match Sticks, Brand name I guess, or different G's. Ok. THEN it advises to take outofbox RAM(4G) and SUBTRACT it from safe MAX allowed(16G) which is 12G. HUH? What happened to the MAX recommended of 16G?? 12G stick right. Should I just say screw it and get 2x8G sticks and yank out the 4G ??

Another ridicule. Getting upgrade from 500G SATA to 2T H/D. BOY did I get slammed and laughed at. "WHY do you want to do that on such an old Comp, just buy a NEW Comp, bigger H/D, better Graphics Card, same price?" "Don't you realize that's how these Websites make easy money? They love Guys like you, your easy, and ill informed". I have Priced EVERYTHING before I blogged these places for the SAFE advise concerning what's best for my HP. Maybe their right. BTW. If you need the SATA NAME of the Company for strict Compatibility reasons, Device Manager ain't got it, and other places I looked for SATA. Type in HWINFO Search. It shows SEAGATE for mine.

Lastly, and DO forgive me if I stretched the Memory Post out to other territory. My Tower has a VGA/DVI(no A/1/2/D) OUT Ports. Looking for 30-32" Monitor with HDMI/DVI. Those are hard to find without paying out the Nose. Mostly popular is the HDMI/Display Port/VGA to which you can drop any one of those. VGA is slowly leaving so I wanted to give maybe DVI a shot (SPEC for DVI OUT says "Supports DVI-D"). Yes I know get a DVI MALE with a HDMI Adapter/HDMI Cord to Monitor. Try using that WIN Photos 3D Program Video on my setup, RIGHT. It's like ya need a compatilble Monitor or Graphics Card. WMP does not play the ones I attempted, just runs 1 sec.  Ok, i'm done "venting". BTW for those that don't know. Forget waiting for WINS UPdate, VER 1809 is out.

I will address the HP 110-016 that you said you owned.  You tagged into a thread about the HP 24-f0040a.

First of all, I will not ridicule you. But I do need to get you to understand the issues you asked about.

RAM:  Your system runs in what is called Dual Channel mode.  Your unit came with a single 4 GB module, forcing it to run in Single Channel mode.  That cuts the speed.  It would have been faster with TWO 2GB RAM modules.  That said,  you could add another matching 4 GB to that original 4 GB.  That would speed up the system.  You just been to look at the existing module, and find the same via the "net".  About that 12GB thing:  RAM only comes in 1,2,4,8 for that unit.  If you wanted the max 16GB, yes you need (example)  TWO  8GB modules that are rated to your unit.

Hard drive:  Clone that 6 year old drive, it has served you well, but 6 years is too old. (IMHO).  A new 1GB would suffice. Both WD and Seagate offer free cloning software for their products.  EaseUS Todo Backup Home is free, and it works with all drives. The EaseUS is not fast (cause it's free), but it WORKS.

Graphics:  You do not have any internal options, as there is    no   GPU PCIEx16 slot. Hence, no upgrade !!

You have VGA and DVI-D ports. There are adapters, as you stated.
