Hi I own a
CHF 80.-- Part Number: 4CE99AA#UUZ, and i can not get the FN key switched over, it's set to FN on defualt. I am not happy with this new model keyboard due to this, i would appreciate if anyone can shed some light on how to switch my F keys back to standard, i've been using my F keys for many years and hardly ever use FN keys.

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community.
I reviewed the case regarding the query regarding the keyboard. I will be delighted to assist you here.
That is by design. For example, If you want to dim the screen brightness, you'll have to press and hold the FN key, and then tap the F5 key.
Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. 😉

Dearest,
I have the same keyboard: WHT PAV WLCombo Keyboard - 800 (Wireless Keyboard and Mouse with slick design).
Serial number 9CP8481BM9 doesn't find any products on HP support portal, so no documentation is available (except for the rudamentary how-to-turn-the-thing on).
So saying that, product is well within expectations (failry satisfied) except for the same thing: HOW TO TURN FN LOCK? Default are multimedia keys, wich are useless for heavy users (needing F5 for refresh, Alt-F4 for closing, etc.). Other HP keyboards have a FN+ESC sequence, but even this doesn't work on this product.
Please, advise.
Thank you,
Strider

Dear,
No, it doesn't help, since to close the windows, you have to click Alt+F4 (which in your case requires three unergonomically close buttons to be preseed at once).
I want a classical - a standard feature to lock/unclock FN button, as every other keyboard on this planet has. Also your own HP keyboards (from other product generations) offer a classical locking/unlocking sequence by pressing FN+ESC key sequence, jut that on this one this doesn't offer work and I was asking, is there any sequence to lock/unlock FN-function/F-function set of buttons. Even I have to open the keyboard with a screwdriver.
For your understanding:
Using FN function like - Dimming/undimming - used 1 (ONE TIME!) per year (as power sheme and light sendors actively manages screen brightness)
Using F function as for closing windows, renaming files, changing drives in windows commander, searching files, searching text, spell checking, searching on page - let's say 200 times per day??
So I am wondering hot NOT to click on FN button 200 times per day and I will gladely click on this button once every year.
thanks, Strider
