I recently put in a NVIDIA Quadro K600 for kicks, and surprisingly it took just fine after some slight modifications to the card itself. While I’m not concerned with performance (at all, frankly, it’s more of an experiment than anything and any performance boost will simply be a bonus) I am, however, concerned about overheating and potential fire (the card is 13 years old, and although it wasn’t used much at all it’s still a concern on my radar). Is the case properly ventilated? Is this an issue at all or am I worrying about it for no reason at all? The card heats up to 65-70 degrees Celsius which feels in the normal range, however I’m asking just to be safe. Thanks!

@HopeResolution,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your Nvidia Quadro K600 1GB has a modest 41-watt TDP: which is low enough that you shouldn't have to worry about a fire/electrical hazard.

Reference: NVIDIA Quadro K600 Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database.

Especially if your K600 model came with a cooling fan (not passive cooling).

Hope this was helpful.
