HP Pavilion All-in-One PC 27-d0000i (7RC38AV)

My desktop has a built-in dongle, what I want to know is - is it an actual dongle or a USB dongle cable. I want to use the mouse and keyboard on another computer but can't because HP stupidly built it in, so I want to remove it so I can use it on another computer. If it is a cable, once removed can it be used externally somehow?

There may be a dongle as shown here

Question:  Can you get into the BIOS setup with your keyboard and mouse?  If so, then that dongle is managed by the bios.

If you take it out can you  post back here what the part number is?

I have a logitech "universal" keyboard / mouse that can be used with several systems. Out of curiosity I wonder if that HP dongle receiver could be replaced with a logitech universal.

HP also had something called "link-5" which did the same thing.  Maybe your AIO receiver is "link-5"

Look for the Bluetooth symbol on the mouse & keyboard.

Is there an HP part number on them?

There was no Bluetooth symbol on the keyboard or mouse.

But there was a QR code on both, and next to that what appears to be a part number.

Keyboard - HP PN: 928511-001

CT: BGLTB 0BUEG3 1KR

Mouse: CT: FGLYP 0BUEG3 1KR

Did that help?

It was even easier than the video. Basically there was an internal USB with the dongle plugged in. I just had to in plug it. Easy as.
