This, https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c08132262, says that the reno 89B5 systemboard will support up to Intel Core i7-12700.
This, https://support.hp.com/th-en/document/c08107634, says that the reno2 89B5 systemboard will support up to Intel Core i7-12700.
This (i7-12700) CPU has a base 65W power, and a turbo max of 180W power.
When playing AAA games at high graphics settings, both the GPU and CPU are at maximum for long periods of time, so I assume the CPU is drawing the full, or at least near 180W power.
This, https://support.hp.com/bg-en/document/ish_7332209-7332253-16, says that the renoR2 8B3B systemboard will support up to Intel i7-14700. This CPU has a base 65W power, and a turbo max of 219W power.
I assume that, when playing AAA games at high graphics setting for long periods of time, the CPU is maxing out and drawing the full, or at least near 219W power.
I have the 500W power supply in my reno2 system.
(1) I am assuming that I could physically install the 17-14700 into the reno2 systemboard.
(2) Would the BIOS recognize it? I just recently updated the BIOS.
(3) Will the Reno2 systemboard be able to safely and steadily supply the i7-14700 with sufficient max power for long periods of time?
Thanks

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
The HP Reno/Reno2 motherboard(s) with SSID: 89B5 are not compatible with any 13th or 14th gen Intel processors.
The best you can do with your existing motherboard/gaming PC are the full range of 12th gen Intel processors, including the i7-12700K/F, and the i9-12900K/F. Just maybe also the i9-12900KS, but that is not entirely clear to me.

Looking at the suggested i9-12900XX desktop options, the T has low performance reviews, the base frequency and the base power draw of the F K KF and KS just seem high. So I'll look into the i9-12900 as the best option for me, and the KS if I can get an Intel Cryo Cool setup in the 15L chassis. Thanks.
