Yes, you can replace the slow 1 TB HDD with a SATA SSD.

 

The MB also has a 2280 M.2 socket which will provide a great place to put the operating system.

 

You could keep the HDD by adding an M.2 SSD or you could also replace the slow HDD with a SATA SSD.
