@Davos314 -- what kind of hard drive should I get to replace original,
It depends on your current computer. The newest computers have a very-fast memory-stick that emulates a disk-drive. So, you remove one "anchor" screw, remove the stick, and insert a replacement.
Any computer from a few years ago has either a HDD (hard disk drive) that spins, or a SSD (solid state device) that also is similar to a USB memory-stick, but wrapped in a 2.5-inch wide "shell".
For much-faster performance, replace any HDD by a SSD.
> how much will it cost approximately,
The cost depends on the capacity of the replacement.
I recently purchased a SSD with 250 GB capacity for under $50.
Any online web-site, e.g., BestBuy can be searched, for pricing.

Since your computer was running Windows 10, replacing the disk-drive does NOT require that you purchase a new copy of Windows 10. Instead, see: Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
for a free download of Windows 10. When installing, the Installer will "call home", and automatically retrieve your product-key. (Some "designed for Windows 10" computers will have the product-key embedded into the motherboard, and the Installer will fetch that key.) After installing this "generic" version, download and run the HP Support Assistant, to download the HP-specific device-drivers.

According to specs here your system should have 16gb ram, 64 bit windows and a 1tb drive
I assume you have 32bit windows as you stated. Is that correct?
Read this to upgrade free to 64 bit windows
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-upgrade-32-bit-64-bit-version-windows-10
What size drive you need? How much ram you really got?
