I purchased a 1 Tb hard drive for my hp desktop.  When I opened it up to install the new drive, it appears to hidden from view.  I do not see it and can't find it.  Please send me the steps and/or video to replace the dri drive.  Thanks!

Hi:

The product specs for your PC indicate that it comes with a 256 GB NVMe solid state drive (SSD).

HP Pavilion 590-p0025 Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

It's a thin, gumstick-size device that fits in a socket on the motherboard and is held down by a small screw at the other end.

Approximate size is 22 mm wide x 80 mm long and looks like the one pictured in the link below.

If you purchased the old-fashioned type 3.5" mechanical hard drive, or a 2.5" SATA SSD, you would have to buy the parts needed to connect it to the PC's motherboard.

Cable - SATA 3.5 HDD2,NelsonNessler

L15768-001
Cable - HDD ODD PWR 1to3,NelsonNessler

You can find the above parts on eBay.  Search by the HP part number.

I'd return either SATA drive if possible and buy a M.2 SSD so you can just swap out the 256 GB M.2 drive for a 1 TB one.

Here is the service video for the model series.

You can click on the index and jump to the part they tell you how to remove and replace the M.2 drive.
