Product: TouchSmart 520-1047c
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My mechanical hard drive is failing.  I am considering replacing it with a Samsung 860 EVO 1TB 2.5" SATAIII Internal SSD, MZ-76E1T0B/AM (available on Amazon.)  Is this Samsung drive compatible with my HP Touchscreen 520-1047c?  If not, suggestions?

Here is the service manual.

The original mechanical 3.5" 1.5TB hard drive is mounted in a tray that has 1 captive screw.  Once that is loosened, the tray slides (with some force) along its tracks, then can be pulled away.  This will disengage the hard drive.

Your will need data migration (cloning) software that would allow a smaller drive to be used.

You will need a temporary external 2.5" drive enclosure.
