Pavillion E9000
Microsoft Windows Vista

Hello,

The power supply on my HP Pavilion Desktop died (part # 5188-2625).

I ordered a new placement through an Amazon supplier.

The original has a sata connector to the hard drive with five wires 1) Yellow, 2) black,  3) red, 4) black, 5) orange.

The replacement connector for the hard drive only has four wires. It is missing the orange one.

Does anyone know what this orange wire is for?

Will my computer work without it or should I return the new power supply?

TIA

Mark.

Hello
I don't know if anyone understands what you are talking about ..
but can you give pictures of what you are talking about

that said, if something is missing, it is probably not the right one, ask the seller what it is
