Pavilion 590-p0053w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I provide gratis computer support for the Disabled American Veterans, chapter 63 in Oklahoma. There was a flood this week that shorted out the power supply in the HP Pavilion 590-p0053w desktop. After drying out the computer for two days, I attempted to power it up, but no joy. I removed the power supply and can see where is was damaged by flood waters.

I am having a really hard time finding a replacement and would appreciate any help.

Thank you, Jim Darrough

The PSU in those units is an HP proprietary designed unit. That model has a 180W version, and the part numbers can be found on this spreadsheet.   The l08660-800 is the most popular, and can be purchased here.

Many users on the forum are upgrading their 180W and 310W PSU.  You could search it, and maybe strike a deal.  I have seen "new" pulled 180's on Ebay for less than $25.

I received the replacement power supply yesterday! This was astoundingly fast shipping. I will install it today and hope nothing else rears its ugly head.

Computer came back up. Had a CMOS checksum error that resolved itself (not surprising since the PS was water damaged). Now have to take it back to DAV and see if I can get into Windows. I don't have the password hah hah.

Thanks to HP for the quick shipment.
