Hi Folks,
First time poster here - please be gentle 🙂
A friend of mine has an HP desktop 500-245ea and the fan has stopped working. I need to find a suitable replacement part.
Can any of you help please?
Cheers, Dave

Hi, Dave:
The PC comes with two fans. One is the system (case) fan, and one is the heat sink fan that helps cool the processor.
Below is the link to the parts list for the PC:
The system fan part # and description is:
646679-001 | System Fan, 9225mm, Kidd |
The Heatsink fan is not sold separately. The fan is included with the heat sink.
644724-001 | Heatsink - 95W, Kidd |
Unfortunately, HP does not sell either of these fans, so you will have to see if you can find the parts you need on eBay or Amazon. Search by the HP part number.
The heat sink fan is removable, so you don't necessarily have to remove the heatsink to replace the fan.
If you find a heatsink, you can swap out the good fan for the bad one.
When I checked the HP parts store in the UK for availability, they provided this list of possible international suppliers.
