I keep getting an error message saying my desktop has over heated and shut down. The fan never seems to be running when this happens. I did open it and dust it. I’m not that computer savvy but I’ll try anything once. Thanks for any help. Terri

Hi @Twolf1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your desktop's fan might be failing or not functioning properly, which is causing your computer to overheat and shut down as a safety measure. Since you've already tried dusting it out, the next step would be to replace the fan.
Unfortunately, there are no further actions we can take through this channel. I recommend reaching out to our phone support for further assistance.
They can help you with the unit repair or part replacement.
