I need to replace the power supply for this computer, it was lost. After some serious searching and several calls to HP I have a description of the type of cord, 65W (100v-240v) not that I know what that means. When directed to the HP parts site I’m confused as to if the power cord is bought separate from the ac adapter? Also, the site says it is not available for purchase so I’m very confused, do I now have a barely used computer that is junk cause I cannot power it up? Someone please help????

Hi:
Below is the link to the parts list for your PC.
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=3LB86AA
You need both the AC adapter and the power cord that goes from the wall socket to the power adapter.
AC Adapter - GNRC, 65W, Smart nPFC Straight Barrel HP Part # 924847-800
Power cord (Black) - 3-wire conductor, 1.0m (3.2ft) long - Has straight (F) C5 connector (North America)
HP part # 213349-009
The parts store has the adapter...$39.19
The parts store has the power cord, but it is on back order...$23.19.
When I am in a situation like that, I would check on eBay for new/used but tested and working genuine HP parts.
I see plenty of the power cords listed on eBay, but HP sells the power adapter cheaper than I could find on eBay by doing a search by the HP part number.

You can also probably use either of the 1st two adapters listed on the parts surfer link, and eBay does have them in used but tested and working condition for cheap with the power cord.
