HP Slimline 450-a24
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
My desktop package box has in small print the subject to my question. The original hard drive is a Seagate single platter 1 Tera Byte drive. This drive can do 133MB/s read 131MB/s write. Soon to be one year old, WD Blue 500 Giga Byte SSD that is the boot drive. Can still manage 260MB/s write and 271MB/s read but, the motherboard controller isn't capable. Why do you print incapable advertisement ?

@redscarlett,

The rating is the MAX that data throughput is calculated.  The detractors are overhead, actual transfer rates of the device.  what your referencing is typical of the mentioned devices.

My Samsung EVO 850 on this computer has it propaganda sheet:

The 850 EVO optimizes performance for your daily computing tasks, boasting sequential write speeds up to 520 MB/s with TurboWrite technology and sequential read speeds up to 540 MB/s.

Read 395
Write 146
Mixed 204
That is why my new build has a Sumsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD

If I was lucky to have SATA 3 controller, I be happy as you. Why this motherboard has a SATA 2, in this century, is odd.

Its very quite and fast 156 startup windows program at 44 seconds. Is the best design for the bucks. The next desktop will not fool me twice. Good Night Wb2001

@redscarlett,

I have found NO reference that the SATA ports are SATA300.

The HD specs list both SATA300 and SATA600.

1) You have possession of the computer, right? 🤔

2) Your telling me to run HWINFO64.exe on a computer NOT in my possession, right? 🤣

Good-bye! 🙄
