TE01-0077c
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello:

I am considering purchasing a desktop (TE01-0077c) that has the Rother motherboard.  I checked out the specs on HP for the motherboard to see what CPUs are compatible and I do not see any of the Intel i-9's listed as compatible.  I thought this was strange since the socket type and chipset seem compatible.

Is this motherboard compatible with the latest Intel CPUs (i-9s)?  I am concerned about having no upgrade potential if I purchase this desktop.

Thank you.

Do you want taik about Intel Core I9-9xxx same this?

If it's your question, this CPU need to have more energy than your PC can deliver to your CPU. Maybe you could use a Core i9 if you replace your power supply, but HP can't warrant compatibility.

Hello, your motherboard's socket is LGA1151.

Thank you for your reply, Fanordi.  Your English is fine 🙂

Unfortunately, that does not answer my question.  I did see that list of compatible LGA1151 processors before posting.  For some reason the newest Intel Core i-9 are not listed as being compatible even though they are also LGA1151 processors.  I am not sure why that is.  Seems like they should be compatible based on form factor and chipset, yet they are not on the list.

Hi Fanordi:

Yes, it is the Intel Core I9-9xxx I was wondering about.  So it is the TDP that is the problem and it is too low on the Rother motherboard for the  I9s.   That's unfortunate since I'd have no upgrade potential with the system I'm interested in purchasing since it already has the latest compatible CPU.

Thank you very much for your help, Fanordi, I appreciate it!

In effect your system support maximal 65W of TDP. Thanks you very much for my second solution in English!
