I have both the MT and SFF machines which I'm trying to upgrade with Ryzen 7 2700 and 2700X processors. I have seen the spec sheet where these are compatible, and I have seen them for sale on Ebay with this configuration. Is there something that I'm missing? I can't get either to post with these processors.
Google AI says that it could be a variant of MB but HP doesn't list multiple MBs for this product and they seem to have the same main chipset. I have updated the BIOS on both models and can't get the 7 processors to post after swapping them in. Reverting to the Ryzen 5 makes it seem to work. Discrete graphics cards were used in both.

Please see this discussion:
You probably have a 705 G4 motherboard with the 8461 or 83E7 system board SSID.

The Ryzen 5 2600 Pro also appears to need the 8460 motherboard SSID in order to work.

If you were wanting to run W11 on your PC you can use an easy workaround that bypasses the W11 hardware checks.
Let me know if you want more information on that.
