HP EliteDesk 705 35W G4 Base Model Desktop Mini PC

Hello,

I want to upgrade the processor of my EliteDesk 705 G4 with Ryzen 3900. Has anybody succeeded with this? Obviously, I will have to add a video card (there is RX560 for this). Will this setup work?

Alternatively, I think about  Ryzen 7 5700G which has an integrated video card and will save buying a separate video card and also M2 SSD.

@Bobby006,

Well, looking at Users here and here, there are no HP EliteDesk 705 35W (or 65W) G4 Base Model Desktop Mini PCs fitted with either a Ryzen 9 3900 or a Ryzen 7 5700G.

The best processor compatible with your DM would be the Ryzen 5 PRO 2400G (3.60 GHz up to 3.90 GHz, 4-Cores, 8-Threads) -but mind you, because it has a 65-watt TDP, you want to make sure you got at least a 95-watt power supply.

Kind Regards,
