Hi,

I would like to install an SSD and not sure which SATA port to use, currently my HHD is connected to the SATA port 2, should I connect the SSD to port 0 and keep the HDD as storage pluged into port 1 ??

Also the DVD/CD units (2) are both pluged into SATA ports 1 and 3. I will need to switch one of these units to another port, maybe port 2 ?

would the below setup work:

SSD = 0

HHD = 1

Optical 1 = 2

Optical 2 = 3

Thanks

Hi:

That is interesting...

The boot drive in all 4 of my HP desktop PC's is plugged into sata port 0.

1 is empty (used for a storage hard drive), 2 has the DVD and 3 is empty (for a second optical drive).

So yes, I would say you should connect your SSD to port 0 if you are going to use it as a boot drive.

HDD to port 1,

Optical drives to ports 2 and 3.
