SD card not detected

I have never used a SD card on my laptop. and this is the first time i inserted the SD card in the SD card slot. And it does not detect. i checked the device manager and there were no unrecognized devices.

The SD card is a 1 GB size used in a canon digital camera. the SD card is detected and shows images in the SD card. 

But nothing happens when i insert it in the slot, no beeps, no errors no messages, nothing is device manager. seems like nothing has happened.

Ran the hardware troubleshooter nothing happened.

Is there something wrong with the hardware?

do i need to enable the device ? if yes how?

how to fix this ?

is it compatibility with windows 10? the camera is 10 years old, and the card was detected well with winxp?. but atleast the sd card as hardware needs to get detected , isnt it?

i installed the shared drivers , but tahts of no use. now in devicemanager i was expecting to see something relating to the SD card drive, but see nothing. below is the screenshot of my device manager

Digital media device had Samsung tv. That i connect with hdmi

hmmm, guess, HP never had designed a SD card reader for 15AC151DX laptops.The SD card reader on this laptop may just be a faux\dummy slot.
