I'm considering upgrading my SSD HD. Currently it is a 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD. How difficult is it to replace it with a 1TB NVMe M.2 PCIe? In my feeble mind, it seems like an easy swap especially since the 1TB SSD has the same operating system on it. Does this sound doable?

The guides listed by @Prométhée are good.

I recommend you use an adapter like this.  Put a  1TB m.2 in it and use cloning software to clone the 256 to the 1TB

If Western Digital m.2 then use their free cloning software which is licensed from Acronis.

Then swap out the m.2   You can leave the 256 in the adapter and  use it for high speed flash memory.

Thanks @BeemerBiker
I didn't offer this while waiting to see if it would work with the windows installed SSD, I know it can work sometimes
But I think that an activation problem can happen, or no start at all!

I'll try first just in case
