I want to replace the 128GB SSD that came with my Pavilion 595-P0074 with a compatible 500GB SSD. Can anyone tell me if this is possible as well as a specific SSD model you can recommend? Thank you.

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
You have a M.2, PCIe 3.0x4 2280 socket.
You should be able to install any PCIe 3.0x4 NVME SSD you want.
I use Samsung NVME devices such as the 970 EVO or 970 PRO. But there are many other manufacturers.
Crucial, Adata, WD, and others.
Look at the read/write specs of each respective M.2 PCIe 3.0x4 NVME SSD and make a decision.

Thank you for your reply. Can you confirm for me if this particular one will work with my system:
addlink S70 512GB SSD NVMe PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 Solid State Drive with Read 3400 MB/s/Write 2000 MB/s (ad512GBS70M2P)

Thank you in advance.

Hi Amazing2061,
You're very welcome.
It looks good to me.
I have never used this product.
I can't vouch for the quality and reliability of Addlink but the specs on the NVME drive in your Amazon link match what your motherboard supports.
