Hello Board,
yesterday i bought my first HP. It´s a HP Pavilion (570-p069ng) Desktop PC.
I would like to upgrade with an SSD to boot the System. Motherboard is a Willow 2 with a M.2 socket 3 Key M.
Is this for SATA or PCIx Cards?
I would like to buy a WD Green SSD 120 GB Festplatte SATA 6Gb/s.
Is it possible to boot the System from the WD Green in the M.2.
Thank´s a lot !!!

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
Congratulations on your purchase of a new HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p072l.
I read that you would like to upgrade to an SSD. I would like to mention that HP does not recommend making any hardware changes to the original Hardware configuration.
However, yes you may upgrade to an SSD. I checked the product specifications of the PC's motherboard. The motherboard has the following expansion slots:
-
One PCI Express x16
-
One M.2 socket 1, key A
-
One M.2 socket 3, key M
Please note that one of the M.2 slots is reserved for the WLAN and the other for the SSD as shown in the below image:
You will need to reinstall the original Windows operating system on the new SSD to boot from it. Either you can create the recovery media to install the operating system on the SSD or contact HP phone support to order the recovery media for the PC.
Hope this information helps. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂
Happy New Year!
