Hi:
You have two options:
1. You can replace the 3.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD but you will need an adapter to fit the smaller size SSD where the current drive is now.
For the SSD, I recommend the Western Digital Blue SA510 2.5" SSD.
This adapter should work for you:
The product specs for your PC indicate that it supports M.2 SSD's.

Your PC has the Apulia motherboard which supports M.2 NVMe SSD's which are faster performing drives than SATA SSD's are.
You can see from the specs for this model which has the same motherboard as yours, that HP equipped it with a 512 GB NVMe SSD.

If you want to upgrade to a M.2 NVMe SSD, I recommend the WD Blue SA570 500 GB drive.
With the second option, you could retain the existing hard drive and use it for storage only.
You won't be able to have Windows on it.
I don't see a service manual for the model series, but perhaps one of this service teardown video will help you open up the PC to do the upgrade.
