Hello community,
My PC does not have a SSD and network card supporting WiFi and Bluetooth and I would like to add one.
I have two available m.2 slots there but when I am browsing sites and trying to find the right one I am confused about compatibility.
For example, I was looking at:
- Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265.NGWWB.W
- and Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 250 GB, MZ-V6E250BW
Can you advise me what details I should be looking for to be sure about HW compatibility?
Thank you in advance for replies!
Ondra

Hi,
Yes it supports M2 PCIe SSDs. Some models come with the Samsung PM951. So I would go with that model or the PM961. You can find online.
You will need to install the OS on the SSD for performance gain. I would disconnect the hard drive, place the M2 SSD, install the OS (no product key needed). Then place the hard drive and remove Windows partition.
You could also opt to migrate an image to the SSD from the hard drive.
On page 30 of service manual you can see which M2 Wifi cards some of the models came with. There should not be a whitelist, so you can choose wny card with the correct form factor and interface. Make sure you have the two antenna cables which attach to the card.

Hope it helps,

Hi David, thank you! I did not know there is something like Service Manual. I'll stick to that.
Related to installation of Win on SSD - I was planning to clone my HDD as a faster solution. What do you think?

Your welcome Ondra. Yes you can use migration software, Samsung even offers free software on its support site. Usually I perform a clean install, especially if the drive is on a different port. However, cloning should work and you can always perform a clean install if any problems arise.
If you want to perform clean install you can create a pendrivewith Windows 10 on it directly from Microsoft by downloading media creation tool:

No product key needed.
Here is your support page for software and drivers:
